"Warran bunna (Norseman Ngadju Culture) 2018

“This painting brings the malpah (men) and nyoongah (womens) story together and honours our elders past, present and future. The painting features Dreamtimes stories Tjirla (snake) and Kalunng (Goanna), Yaada (Eagle) and Murnkurni (bronzewing pigeon). There are land marks in the Norseman area including the wanyal (water trees) and midjal boorie (rockholes). The Ngadju people identify themselves with the Goolbrit (grey kangaroo) which is unique to the Warran bunna (Norseman) area.

Murnkurni Dreaming (Bronzewing pigeon)
This Artwork is dedicated to the loving memory of my Dearest Mother Phyllis Wicker RIP. Ngadju Yalunya Nyoongah (Beautiful woman). This painting is about strength, courage, devotion, honour, and unselfishness. Also of the integrity, joy and sincerity of a doting single mother with an amazing heart. Supportive in every aspect of life’s journey. Treasure our mothers for everything we receive by love or discipline and THANK THEM. For mum whose wealth, richness and life dedication for the future generations... to ensure we have a beautiful life.”
