Freedom in Red 2018

MURAL LOCATION
Central Regional Tafe
69 MacDonald St, Kalgoorlie

“Amongst the red earth and scattered shrub there is signs of life. Life that has not been disturbed by human touch. The goldfields although a flourishing mining area is still surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes found in Australia. Scales, skin, fur and feathers call this place home. With such numerous unique fauna there is equally as many interesting flora of all shapes, sizes, colour and texture.

We are soo lucky to share this environment with these species and must do what we can to protect it. Foxes and feral cats have long been an issue to many native species and sadly the Bilby is now rarely seen in the Goldfields.

I’m hoping that along with this mural and by educating the public about the animals we share our planet with we may one day see some species return. Species left to right- Barking Gecko, Woma Python, Blue-tongue Lizard, Rainbow Bee-eater and Bilby.”
