LINDA RAE
Linda Rae is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily practices in Karlkurla | Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Growing up on a farm on the south coast of WA, she has been immersed in art from a young age. After completing her studies in fine art and design, she explored various mediums and participated in exhibitions, commissions, markets, and events during the late 90s and early 00s.
Motivated by her passion for sustainability and a fascination with science, Linda transitioned into a career in renewable energy, which led her to the Goldfields. There, she cultivated her interest in events and community engagement as an energy and sustainability activist.
Following the birth of her children, Linda redirected her focus back to the arts and has been steadily developing her practice since 2014. She primarily works with body paint, acrylics, ink, chalk, and recycled sculpture, infusing her pieces with themes of storytelling, sustainability, and capturing fleeting moments. Linda aims to infuse wonder and sparkle into people's lives through her art, which encompasses portraiture, murals, live art, and interactive installations characterized by bold, messy, and vibrant aesthetics, often incorporating sparkles or light.
Linda is frequently involved in facilitating live art community activations, teaching classes and workshops, leading public art tours, and coordinating events. In 2018, she joined the committee of Golden Mile Art, eventually assuming the role of chairperson.
